San Saba 4-H
San Saba County currently has one 4-H group available that is open to every child in San Saba County.
4-H is a club for kids and teens ages 5-18, and it’s BIG! It’s the largest youth development program in Texas with more than 550,000 youth each year. No matter where you live or what you like to do, 4-H has something that lets you be a better you!
You may think 4-H is only for your friends with animals, but it’s so much more! You can do activities like shooting sports, food science, healthy living, robotics, fashion, and photography.
Our 4-H is open to children in 3rd grade (or 8 years old) to 12th grade! We also offer “Clover kids” for those who are in second grade. Clover kids are free and although they can’t participate in everything like competitions or Shooting Sports, they can participate in meetings and certain events and workshops!
Our 4-H club meets every third Tuesday of the month at the Rylander Memorial Library located on the square in San Saba. We typically meet at 5:30 pm and our meeting lasts an hour.
To sign your child up all you need to do is fill out this form: 19-20_TX4H_Youth_Enrollment
Bring that filled out and signed form to our office on the first floor in the Courthouse, along with the $30 dues. Checks can be made out to the San Saba 4-H Council. We typically offer Early Bird special discounts during the months of August-October.
Adults can sign up as volunteers by filling out this form: 19-20_TX4H_Adult_Enrollment
This is free to all adults who would like to help out at meetings, contests, or events!
Due to COVID-19, AgriLife Extension Services has canceled all face to face meetings, events, or contests through May 4th. 4-H will possibly have a meeting in May, however that could be subject to change.
4-H FCH Project Areas
Every 4-H member must have at least one project they are working on during the 4-H year. For many members, it’s hard to figure out what you can or want to do so we have some handouts that could help you figure it out.
Due to COVID-19, all summer camp information will be available at the end of May, when we have a better understanding of what our situation is.
